Increased Awareness
Caregivers are trained to recognize increased slowness, muscle stiffness/rigidity, tremor and changes in posture and balance.
Pills on Time
Medications help to restore the brain’s chemical balance, and pills must be given on schedule for maximum benefit.
Support
Reduced facial expressions and low voice volume impact communication skills for people with Parkinson’s. These symptoms should not be misinterpreted as disinterest, anger, or confusion.

Why an AFH is a good choice for Parkinson’s care:
Medication management is key to proper care for a Parkinson’s patient. While managing the medication and providing “pills on time” It is also very important for caregivers to recognize changes in a resident’s physical activities and personal behavior to better manage the care and medication a resident receives.
